and Happy New year to everyone!
4/16/2009: Shortly after 1AM Lakeside was alerted to a report of a structure fire at 23 Cromwell
Hill Rd. Upon arrival first due Chief's advised units of a heavy smoke condition and an active fire in the kitchen.
A neighbor who was also alerted was knocking down the fire with a fire extinguisher. Occupants were removed from
the building. Engine 533's crew assisted with ventilation, and checking for extension. Monroe FD responded
1 Tanker to the scene due to a misdispatch as "Cromwell Rd". Lakeside units returned shortly after 2AM.
Lakeside

12/25/2008:
In the early morning hours of Christmas Day Lakeside was sounded mutual aid 1 Engine to the scene of a working structure
fire in Chester- Lakehill Farms. On arrival Engine 533 laid a 5 inch supply line from a nearby hydrant and fed Chester
Tower Ladder 917. Soon afterwards Chester command requested Engine/Tanker 535 to the scene. 535 responded and
staged with other mutual aid tankers nearby and once it was determined that tankers were not necessary they were
released. All Lakeside Units cleared at Apx 5AM.
9/5/2008: At apx 1:20PM Lakeside responded
for a report of a 2 car MVA-rollover with injuries. On arrival of first members on scene it was discovered to be a car
vs propane truck with minor injuries. Due to the scope of the incident Monroe FD was immediately requested
Mutual Aid to the scene with 1 Engine/Tanker and Rescue. Also assisting on scene was 36-16, OC HazMat. In addition
to mutual aid on scene Tuxedo had 1 engine in Lakesides quarters, Chester 1 Engine 1 Tanker standby in Trout Brook,
and Monroe FD placed Harriman FD on standby in their quarters. Once the situation was mitigated and it was deemed that
the tank posed no addition risk and was towed away at Apx 6:45 all units went back in service.
4/18/2008:
At apx 1:00PM Lakeside was requested mutual aid 1 brush truck and manpower to the scene of a large brush fire in the
Chester Fire District. Upon arrival Lakeside units were instructed to find access off of Booth Rd. Lakeside units
operated on scene for apx 2 hrs. At this time Chester FD was sounded for a Working Structure Fire at 24 Story Hill Rd.
Lakeside was automatically dispatched to cover this job. On Arrival of Chief Carton he found a 1 family
40x30 structure up Story HIll Rd apx 1,000ft. Lakeside Engine 534 dropped a supply line at Bull Mill Rd and laid into
the fire. Greenwood Lake Engine 619 followed as 2nd due. The initial attack line was met with a heavy- intense fire-load in
the garage. After an aggressive interior attack on the fire, the main body of fire was knocked down in roughly 15-20
minutes. At this point focus was shifted to combating the brush fire that variousmutual aid companies ( and the same
one Lakeside was at beforehand) were fighting. Multiple lines were stretched including multiple 1 3/4 handlines,
and a 2 1/2 off of 534. All units cleared at Apx 8:00PM.
3/4/2008: At apx 5:00PM Lakeside was sounded for a report of a structure
fire on Lake Region Blvd. Chief Carton being in the area was on scene instantaniously and soon declaired a working fire.
The basement fire was knocked down quickly. Due to the building being an older balloon frame building and no residence
home at the time entry was forced to the first floor to check for extension which was negative. Also on scene was Engine/Tanker
535, Rescue 530. All Lakeside units were back in service at apx 6:30PM.
1/12/2008:
At apx 6:50 AM Lakeside was sounded for a mutual aid request of 1 Tanker to the scene of a working structure fire in
the Monroe Fire Department. Prior to arrival of Monroe FD the building a 3 story residence was fully involved and a 2nd alarm
assignment was immedietly requested. 535, Car 1 and Car 3 responded to the scene. Soon after ariving on scene
Lakeside Car 3 assumed role of water operations officer. 535 was set up at the intersection of Cromwell and Cromwell
Hill Rd as a source pumper to supply all water to the fire. 535's crew assisted on scene with opening up for fire
attack. All Lakeside units cleared at apx 11:00AM.
12/5/2007:
At apx 10:30 AM Lakeside was sounded for a mutual aid request of 1 Tanker to the scene of a working structure fire in the
South Booming Grove Fire District. Engine/Tanker 535 responded. Upon arrival their crew went to work assisting
with various task's on the fireground. 535 assisted at the scene as the source pumper feeding all working apparatus
at the scene. Lakeside units cleared the scene at apx 3:30PM
12/1/2007: At apx 8:30 PM Lakeside was sounded for a 2 car motor vehicle
accident on Lakes Road with initial reports of entrapment with fire. First arriving Chiefs arrived to find a 2 car motor vehicle
accident. 1 vehicle was rolled onto its passanger side with entrapment/pin underneath the vehicle. 2nd vehicle
was off of the roadway down an embankment with heavy entrapment. Rescue 530 arrived on scene and went to work with stabalizing
vehicle 1 then lifting the vehicle off the ground enough to get a cut on the door to successfully extricate victim 1
who was transported to the Trout Brook Firehouse to an awaiting Statflight. The extrication on vehicle 2 was handed
by Chester Fd ( per automatic mutual aid) and Lakeside assisted with that extrication.
7/14/2007: At roughly 6:00PM Lakeside was paged out for a report of a man who fell off of a roof on Walton Lake
Rd. Upon arrival of first due units they discovered a man who did indeed fall off of a roof, into a trench roughly 10
feet deep. At this time command requested the specialized trench rescue team from Goshen/Mechanicstown to the scene(
along with OC HazMat team, and county corridinator). These units were canceled soon after dispatch due to a quick
patient removal. Lakeside EMT's assisted with patient care while Rescue 530's crew assisted removing the victim from
the trench. Statflight was requested and landed at the American Legion with Engine 533.
7/1/2007- Just before 4:00AM Lakeside was requested mutual aid 1 tanker to the scene of a working structure
fire in the South Blooming Grove Fire District. 535 car 4 and car 1 responded with a crew. Upon arrival of 535
all operations were going exterior due to the fast moving fire. Chief Carton assumed the role of Water Operations officer
while 535's crew laid roughly 800-900ft of 5 inch LDH, and assisted in water shuttle. All Lakeside units were back in
service by 10:00 AM.

1 Engine, 1 Truck 1 FAST team) Salsbury Mills/ Mt Lodge ( 2 Tankers 1 Engine),
4/24/2007- At Apx 5:00PM Lakeside was requested mutual aid to Tuxedo FD for the first big brush fire of the season.
Upon arrival M-532 was sent into the woods while E-534 staged in the lot. Shortly afterwards pages were put out for
all avalable manpower for multiple departments. Lakeside units were places back into service at 8:20PM.
4/15- 4/16/2007- Due to a slow moving storm blasting through the area Lakeside was kept busy from Sunday evening
througout Monday.Lakeside responded to many pump outs in district. At roughy 4:00AM Lakeside was requested to standby
in quarters with their boat for Washingtonville. Shortly after calling in service Lakeside was immediatly requested
to the scene of a neighborhood virtually underwater. Many residents and their pets were rescued by Lakeside personell.
Lakeside assisted in Washingtonville throughout the morning untill apx. 7:00AM. Shortly after being placed back in service
we were alerted to a number of pump and continued througout the day.
3/13/07- At Apx. 2:50AM on March 13th Lakeside was dispatched for a Mutual
Aid request of 1 Tanker to Tuxedo to standby at the crash gate for the NYS thruway. Soon after leaving quarters
535's assignment was changed. 535 was to go directly to the scene and await further orders. Once arriving on scene
535's crew was immediately requested to place an attack line in service. It should also be noted that there were already 2
confirmed fatalities at this job, and the contents of the trailers were unknown ( was later found out to be Hazardous Materials).
Once 535 was emptied, they went to refill and continuedthroughout the night. At roughly 6:30AM Lakeside units were released
and placed back in service.
2/24-25/07- A slow moving storm comming through the region kept the members of Lakeside busy throughout Sunday
the 24th into Monday the 25th. Lakeside answered numerious calls during this period ranging from medical calls to motor
vehicle accidents.
1/20/2007: At apx 6:30pm Lakeside was dispatched for a Mutual Aid request 1 Tanker to the Tuxedo Fire District.
Tuxedo was operating at a large brush fire on the New York State Thruway, and due to no water supply on the Thruway Tuxedo
called for Engine 535 to respond. Car 4 and 535 responded and was told to stage at the crash gate. Car 4
and 535 were released at 7:30pm and places back in service
1/2/2007: At apx 2:30am Lakeside was paged out for a CO Alarm going off in a residence on Walton Terrace.
Arriving on scene Car 1 found one patient feeling ill and the patient was turned over to Monroe EMS. On arrival of Engine
533 their crew found positive CO readings all throughout the house. The source of the problem ( oil furnace) was shut
off and the house was thouroughly vented. 533 and Car 1 cleared the scene at apx 3:00am and all Units Were Placed Back
in Service.
